Dan Knauss, PsyD
Dr. Knauss is a licensed clinical psychologist (Massachussetts #10572, New York #024254-01) and psychoanalyst with experience treating infants, children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples and family therapy.
Dr. Knauss holds a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from California Lutheran University. He is a graduate of the ACPEinc accredited Adult Psychoanalytic Training Program and Fellowship in Hospital-based Psychotherapy at the Austen Riggs Center. He is also a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston Fellowship in Infant-Parent Mental Health.
Dr. Knauss has worked in private practice, community mental health clinics, university counseling centers, medical centers, and residential treatment settings. He currently works as a staff psychologist at the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, MA. Dr. Knauss has specific interests in mentalization-informed approaches to treatment, infant and early-childhood mental health, and working with expectant parents. He has presented research at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Knauss has taught undergraduate and graduate level psychology courses at private and public universities and has experience providing clinical supervision to psychology graduate students.
